Couri
Technology - (Couri Tech),
is
hosting this writing contest to promote
IT Legends. If you have a "story" to
tell, we want to know about it. The mission of this contest
is to inspire creativity, communication,
and well-rewarded recognition to
contestants for their creative writing
talents.
Prizes
are being awarded for best story
submissions.
The contest
is open globally; age is of no matter;
but entries must be in English.
We are open to all styles of writing
but will only post submissions that are
related to the fields of Information
Technology, and stories should be
written without bias or discrimination
of any form. Couri Tech reserves the
right to remove any submission from
eligibility at its sole discretion.
All entries will be read by a panel
of judges who are current IT
professionals from many different
backgrounds and levels of experience.
We love creativity, originality, and
good-hearted reads, but reserve the
right to make edits as may be necessary
to remove offensive language, remarks,
comments or provide editing for spelling
errors or omissions.
So go wild!
Express yourself, and most of all, have
some fun!
WORD COUNT:
Maximum: 5000
Minimum: 800
The title is not to be counted in
your word count. We use MS Word's word
count to determine the submitted entry's
word count.
PROMPT:
Describe an IT event either using your
own life or simply use your imagination
to develop a story regarding an IT
"Fright-Mare" or a moment of the "Golden
Idea" story. If you ever overheard a
conversation, discovered something that
wasn’t intended for your eyes (mail,
letter, photos, or other), had an
embarrassing e-mail forwarded by
mistake... anything can be submitted.
Describe the events and the good (or
bad) fortune it brought to you or your
characters. This can be fiction or
non-fiction essay, but be descriptive
enough so your readers can see the event
through your eyes. Your submission may
not use real names, and your characters
should not have last names.
Stories should be directed towards an
information technology user crowd.
Acronyms may (of course) be used, please
try to be as accurate as possible to
known IT terms. Whether your story is
light-hearted to funny, or just plain
scary to imagine... be imaginative,
creative — but again most of all -- *be
original*.
THIS CONTEST IS
INTENDED ONLY TO SPARK YOUR CREATIVITY.
STORIES MUST BE ABOUT LUCK (GOOD OR
BAD), SERENDIPITY, A MISSED OPPORTUNITY,
OR KARMA WHETHER REAL OR IMAGINED.
Only stories that have the Prompt
incorporated in them will be accepted.
You may do this any creative way you
would like, just make sure anyone would
know you wrote your story specifically
for this contest.
